The SSI Scuba Refresher is designed to refresh your your gear setup, and practice core underwater skills in a relaxed, stress-free environment. Guided step-by-step by an experienced instructor, you will quickly regain your comfort, fine-tune your buoyancy, and feel 100% ready for your next reef exploration.

  • Safety & Knowledge Review: Refresh key diving rules, hand signals, emergency procedures, and dive planning basics.
  • Gear Assembly & Setup: Re-familiarize yourself with setting up your regulator, BCD, weight system, and performing pre-dive safety checks.

2 .Course Curriculum (Half-Day or 1 Day)

The refresher course combines a quick knowledge session with hands-on equipment setup, a pool/confined water skills session and an optional guided ocean dive at Koh Lanta dive sites.

  1. Academic & Safety Review: Briefing on diving physics, gas management, ascent rates, and communication signals.
  2. Equipment & Pre-Dive Checks: Assembling your scuba unit, fitting your gear comfortably, and carrying out buddy checks.
  3. In-Water Skill Refresh: Practicing mask clearing, buoyancy control, hovering, and emergency skills in shallow, calm water.

3. Prerequisites

  • Prerequisites: Proof of Open Water Diver certification (or higher level) from any recognized agency (SSI, PADI, NAUI, BSAC, etc.).
  • Minimum Age: 10 years old.

4. Your International Certification

At the end of the course, you will updates your logbook status to demonstrate recent diving activity to dive centers worldwide.

Is a Scuba Refresher mandatory if I haven’t dived in a long time?

If you haven’t dived in 6 to 12 months (or longer), most reputable dive centers require or strongly recommend a refresher. It ensures your safety and comfort so you can fully enjoy your ocean dives.

Will this re-certify me if my dive card is very old?

Scuba certifications never expire! The Scuba Refresher  simply updates your dive record and logbook to show that your practical skills and knowledge are active and up to date.
