Peak Performance Buoyancy in Koh Lanta

Participating in the Peak Performance Buoyancy training in Koh Lanta means wanting to understand and improve your buoyancy while diving. You have to admit that seeing the Pros, all the time in good buoyancy, raises questions.

What is zero buoyancy?
Obviously, divers who master it perfectly are different. They glide effortlessly, consume less air, descend, ascend, or hover naturally, without even thinking about it, so to speak.

In addition, they interact positively with aquatic life and have minimal impact on the environment around them.
This diving specialty allows you to work on the basic techniques learned during the Open Water Diver training and to perfect them.

  • Opportunities to Master Buoyancy Beyond Open Water Diver Skills:

    • Maintenance of zero buoyancy during all phases of the dive
    • Float effortlessly

The Buoyancy Control dive of the Advanced Open Water program may, at the discretion of your Instructor, be credited for this specialty.

By the way: for Underwater Photography Diving, good buoyancy control is very important to avoid lifting sediment from the bottom and ensure coral protection!

PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or higher, who are at least 10 years old, are eligible to take the Peak Performance Buoyancy course.

During two scuba dives, you’ll learn how to:

  • Determine the exact weight you need, so you’re not too light or too heavy.
  • Trim your weight system and scuba gear so you’re perfectly balanced in the water.
  • Streamline to save energy, use air more efficiently and move more smoothly through the water.
  • Hover effortlessly in any position – vertical or horizontal.

Get credit! The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification .
